Jim Villanueva is a 20-year veteran of the radio programming/national syndication business. His career began at the legendary in 1987 where, during a 5-year stint, he served as the station's Music Research Director and an assistant in the Programming Dept. In 1992,

In 1992, Jim moved on to Global Satellite Network where he wrote, produced and booked the award-winning nationally syndicated Rockline program for 5 years. In addition, he wrote and produced a host of other weekly nation radio programs, including Powercuts, Headsets and Modern Rock Live, as well as one-off radio specials such as Ozzy Osbourne: Let the Madness Continue, The 25 Year History of Electric Lady Studios, Class Axe: Guitar Greats A-Z and Summertime Blues, among several others. Also during his five years at Global, Jim personally interviewed well over 100 of the biggest names in rock and roll, including Robert Plant, Ringo Starr, Carlos Santana, David Bowie, Pete Townshend, B.B. King, Pearl Jam, Buddy Guy, Metallica and more.

Following his stay at Global Satellite Network, he moved to the
Album Network/SFX broadcast department for a near two-year stay, in which, he again produced scores of live and prerecorded nationally syndicated radio programs, plus conducted more than 250 artist interviews for the newly formed Know-It-All show prep service. Jim also wrote feature articles for the Album Network magazine, plus covered live music events such as the Grammy's and American Music Awards, etc.

In 1999, Jim returned to
95.5 KLOS/Los Angeles to begin a 3-year stretch as the station's Music Director, overseeing the heritage station's day-to-day music programming.

In 2002, Jim left KLOS to form his own syndication company (
LHM Productions) with legendary FM personality Jim Ladd and two other partners, Maria Laing and John Valenzuela. The group produced several nationally syndicated radio specials, including the "World Premiere" broadcast of Robert Plant's Dreamland CD, the "World Premiere of The Last Waltz Box Set, the Rush: 2002 Tour Special, in addition to a monthly series of specials known as The Profiles, featuring career retrospectives of artists such as Yes, the Allman Brothers Band, Bon Jovi and George Thorogood.

In 2003, Jim wrote, produced and distributed
Current Classics , a weekly 60-minute program focusing on "current" releases from the biggest names in "classic" rock. In addition to the weekly show, Jim has since written and produced additional nationally syndicated radio specials, including the "World Premiere" of Eric Clapton's Me and Mr. Johnson, The Concert for George, Eric Clapton's Sessions for Robert J, U2 @ 30, a 2-hour retrospective of the Irish band's Rock and Roll Hall of Fame career, and more.

Since 2006, Jim has been the West Coast Entertainment/Music Reporter for Dial Global Programming, writing daily Pop, Rock, and Classic Rock News columns as well as providing audio interview soundbites from the biggest names in music and movies for the New York-based company's XPrep show prep service, mdae available to over 400 stations nationwide.
